Afrobeats superstar Davido has named the next generation of artistes he believes will shape the genre after him, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, who are often called the “Big 3.”
Naija News reports that according to Davido, Asake, Rema, and Omah Lay are set to take Afrobeats to the next level with their music.
The singer shared his thoughts during a recent livestream with popular streamer Carter Efe.
He also talked about his dream collaborations, mentioning that he would love to work with global stars like Rihanna and Kehlani, believing they could create great music together.
“Asake, Omah Lay and Rema are the next GOATs of Afrobeats. I would love do a song with Rihanna, I think me and Rihanna would make some dope music. Kehlani as well,” the DMW boss said.
In other news, Davido has stated that his collaboration with his colleague Omah Lay, was meant to dispel doubts about his love for him.
Naija News recalls that in 2024, Omah Lay revealed he had assumed that Davido “hated” him until the DMW boss spun his songs during his famous livestream with American streamer Kai Cenat in Lagos State.
In a trending video broadcast, Davido explained that he reached out to Omah Lay after seeing his tweet.
According to Davido, their interactions led to their collaboration on ‘With You’.
