The death has been reported of Oscar-winning Hollywood actress, Diane Keaton.
Keaton, who played key roles in movies such as Annie Hall, The Godfather and several others, died at the age of 79, according to a statement released on Saturday by her family.
Naija News understands the iconic actress passed away at age 79 in California.
While the family is yet to disclose the actual cause of her death, they have requested privacy during this time.
Prior to her death, Keaton had not appeared publicly in recent months, but had no prior announcement of illness.
The actress was known for often dressing in sporting hats, turtlenecks, and wide trousers.
Her breakthrough came with an Academy Award-winning performance in Woody Allen’s 1977 romantic comedy Annie Hall, a role heavily inspired by her own life and personality.
Meanwhile, Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has reacted to those condemning her for visiting a nightclub shortly after her sister’s burial.
Naija News reports that Phyna, who recently lost her younger sister Ruth Otabor in an accident involving a Dangote truck in August and laid her to rest in September, recently came under fire on social media after a video surfaced of her clubbing alongside Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
The viral clip triggered backlash from some netizens who accused the reality TV star of being insensitive and moving on too quickly so soon after her loss.
While Regina Daniels had earlier defended her, urging the public to stop judging others for how they grieve, Phyna had not commented on the matter until now.
Replying to the criticism via her 𝕏 account, Phyna stated that mourning is a profoundly personal experience.
According to her, grief has no manual and no timetable.
