Singer Peter Okoye has mourned the loss of two close members of Anthony Joshua’s team after a road accident in Ogun State, saying the news left him deeply heartbroken.

Naija News reports that he also sent comfort to the British-Nigerian boxer and prayed for strength for everyone affected.

He wrote: “This accident has shattered me completely. Latz & Sina, I can’t believe you’re gone. Why? To my brother @Anthonyjoshua, my heart breaks for you. Latz & Sina will forever live in our memories and in the love they left behind. Even in the middle of this storm, we are grateful to God for sparing your life. May He comfort you, guide you, and help you carry their legacy with pride and strength. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong, brother.”

The accident happened on Monday along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Makun area.

The car carrying Joshua and his team was said to have run into a stationary truck while travelling on the highway.

Two men in the vehicle, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, known as Latz, died at the scene.

Ghami worked as Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, while Ayodele was his personal trainer and had been with him for many years.

Joshua, a former two-time world heavyweight champion, and the driver suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

Reports said Joshua was stable.

Officials are looking into the cause of the crash, with early findings pointing to possible speeding and loss of control during an attempt to overtake.

The Ogun State Government called the crash tragic and urged drivers to obey traffic rules. President Bola Tinubu also sent condolences to Joshua and the families of the two men.
